The medical staff on board is not available for daily care unless you are hospitalized in the ship’s medical Center. You must be able to care for yourself, including dressing, eating, and attending the ship’s safety drills. If guests become ill or injured during the voyage and the diagnostic and/or care needs exceed the capabilities of the on-board medical Center, guests will be transferred to medical facilities ashore. Keep in mind that the scooter minimizes the available space within your cabin. Due to safety considerations, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be stored in the corridors.
- Service Dog
- A service dog is a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The tasks performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability. MSC welcomes service dog on board its cruise vessels. - MSC Bellissima have Braille signs in public areas, in lifts and at the entrance to the cabins; all the ships have deck indicators in the lifts and fully accessible public areas, decks and tenders. Although the entertainment staff do not offer a childcare service, they are trained to provide a wide range of entertainment aimed specifically at children. Please note that no one-to-one supervision service is offered on board our ships.
- What are the safety standards for the MSC Bellissima?
- A cruise isn’t just one of the most luxurious and relaxing ways to see the world, it’s also one of the safest. That’s because every cruise ship has to be built, equipped and operated in accordance with the strict requirements of the international maritime treaty known as the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention, developed by the International Maritime Organization, the UN agency responsible for shipping. As a result, for example, all cruise ships must have regularly-checked lifeboats, life rafts and life preservers for every person on board, plus a specified minimum additional capacity. The ultramodern ships in the MSC Cruises fleet go substantially above and beyond what is required, carrying backup mechanical, navigational and safety provisions. And of course our crews undertake extensive training and refresher training, certification and regular drills for emergency situations, including the evacuation of a ship. So you can cruise in peace with total peace of mind.
- Is there any special care for children?
- If you are travelling with infants or children under the age of 12 years, on embarkation they will be provided with an ID wristband which must be worn for the entire duration of the cruise. In the unlikely event of an emergency while your children are involved in children’s club activities, our staff will escort them to the Children’s Pick-up Area where they will wait for you to arrive and proceed with them to your Muster Station/Assembly Station.
- Should I get insurance?
- To ensure maximum peace of mind, it is recommended that all passengers have a travel and medical insurance policy that covers them against risks related to cancellation, trip interruption, repatriation costs, medical assistance and other related expenses, as well as hospitalization. Not having a travel and medical insurance in place you might be exposed to additional costs that could not be covered by the Cruise Company.
